Today I’m sharing a recipe that from a new book, 40 Days of Green Smoothies, Kickstart your mornings with this 40 day program designed to develop your green smoothie habit! This book is from Becky Striepe of Glue and Glitter blog. Becky has created a book of delicious smoothies while hiding in lots of greens and veggies in them. It’s a 40 day program designed to kick up your greens into your eating habits. I love veggies and especially green ones and have no problems eating them. I’m actually not a smoothie person and don’t really drink them, but I know a large amount of people rely on them. This book is great for those who love smoothies and Becky also includes shopping lists and menus in the book to help you out.

This Banana Berry Fresh Smoothie my daughter absolutely loved. It has bananas, raspberries, parsley and chia seeds. She had no clue there was greens in there. I may have thrown a couple of extra raspberries in there, too 😉

I even doubled the recipe so it would fill a full glass and she drank the whole thing. She loves veggies just like I do, so I don’t need to sneak them in, however, she loves drinking a cold sweet smoothie too. I know she wouldn’t like the taste of parsley though, but the raspberries and banana covered it all up. I know a lot of people count on smoothies for breakfast or a pick-me-up or to refuel after a workout, so this book is great for people who love smoothies.

All the recipes are whole foods, nothing fake or artificial. Just great plant food!

Other yummy smoothies from the book are:

Cherry Tangerine Smoothie

Chocolate Covered Cherry Smoothie

Chocolate Shake

You mentioned avocado but didn’t include it in the recipe?

Oops, sorry that was an accident! When deciding which recipe to share, it was between this one and another that had avocado, so I guess I had avocado on the brain 🙂 This one doesn’t have it. I’ve corrected the post!

I love Becky’s book! I drink smoothies almost daily and my kids are obsessed with them too. Like you guys, we have no problem eating our greens, so drinking them too just means we get even more – score! I really love all the variety of greens Becky uses too – more than just your typical kale or spinach (though obviously though are in there too).

And if Olivia liked it than odds are I will too!! We seem to agree most of the time 🙂 It’s been fun seeing all sorts of creative smoothies from this book popping up in various reviews, the parsley in a smoothie thing is new to me. But considering how gorgeously pink, thick, and creamy this one is I’m sure all that fruit covers it very well. Great photos too, you managed to capture the quick-disappearing smoothie top swirl and the glass isn’t foggy–a smoothie photographing feat I’d say 😀

Great review! I love Becky’s book and her smoothie recipes. How fun that you could sneak parsley into a drink and not taste it. Love it!

I’m a big fan of parsley in smoothies. It adds so much nutrition, and the flavor usually not noticeable with other smoothie ingredients! This one looks fabulous, I feed sad for people that don’t drink smoothies. 🙂

Yes, I actually have a smoothie on my blog from a couple of years or so ago where I used parsley! I don’t drink them anymore, but don’t feel sad for me, I’m not missing out, haha. I just prefer to eat my breakfast these days and smoothies just would always leave my tummy not so happy from all that blended fruit sugar. But they are great for those who love them!

Lmao!! Now, that was funny! I actually have a smoothie recipe on my blog from a few years ago that has parsley, lol. You can’t taste it though, I’m SO picky, so trust me, as long as it’s not too much, it isn’t detectable 🙂
