Oh my goodness! This soup is AMAZING! I sautéed the garlic and onion and added it to the blender. I did add a little mashed avocado and fresh lemon juice, and topped mine with sautéed yellow, orange and red peppers finely chopped. . My adult daughter said it tasted like a fine restaurant meal. Everyone loved it!! I can imagine it’s even better with the nutritional yeast & cumin but it was amazing without it. Thank you so much!

Look for
Festkochende Kartoffeln in Germany. The global fork says “are high moisture potatoes, most similar to American Yukon Gold or chef’s potatoes, and are best for boiling, steaming, braising and stewing (whenever you’re using moisture to cook).”

I don’t usually write reviews but I love this soup and have been making it for years now (like, 4 years). It’s of my top comfort foods, and, it’s healthy + packed with nutrients! Potatoes indeed get a bad rap. Thank you!

I guess I would try any type of yellow potato? You can always amp up the flavor with salt or spices if needed.

I love your pumpkin lentil chili and I’d love to try this recipe…but I live in Germany and don’t have access to Yukon Gold potatos. Do you have any suggestions? …even if its just a flavor substitute?

I’m not a fan of sweet potatoes. In fact, I only eat them because they are good for me. This soup is AMAZING and it has changed the way I view the humble sweet potato. Thanks for another great recipe!

Surprisingly delicious for such simple ingredients! Because i recently had a molar pulled and on a soup diet, I blended a bowl with fresh mixed green leafy veggies and steamed corn nibblets just before serving and turned even more delicious!!
